What is Evidence Based Medicine?

Evidence Based Medicine is defined as “The judicious use of the best current evidence in making decisions about the care of the individual patient. Evidence-based medicine (EBM) is meant to integrate clinical expertise with the best available research evidence and patient values” (http://www.medterms.com) . This should mean that your care provider is using the most current studies and research, when making decisions on how to work with you during your time together. It is also important for you, as the consumer, to have access to the same resources and studies so that you can also make an informed decision about you and your baby’s care. Following is a short list of some good evidence based sites to get you started.
