What is Birth Connections of Stillwater?
We are a grassroots resource group that meets once a month to discuss a different topic relevant to families.
We are mamas that have strayed from the beaten path.

Some of us have tons of kids, some of us don’t.
Some of us birth in our homes, some of us don’t.
Some of us breastfeed, some of us don’t.
Some of us use herbs, some of us don’t.
Some of us use cloth diapers, some of us don’t.
However, we all love being mothers and coming together
to share in the joys and trials that it brings.
What do you do?
We meet every 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00 pm at the
First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, 6th and Duck.
We also serve as a resource for families in Stillwater for information on
**Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC)
**Midwifery Care
**Doulas
**Breastfeeding Support
**Cloth Diapering
**Babywearing
For the past 2 years we have provided a “Baby Cafe” for Celebration Stillwater,
which is an out door event at couch park in the fall.
Our tent is a place for families to feed and change their babies.

WHO FOUNDED THIS GROUP AND WHY?
Birth Connections was founded by two mothers in Stillwater named Amy Townsend and Tori Caswell.
They saw that Stillwater was in need of a resource for women looking for more birthing options.
Amy, now a student midwife and doula, and Tori, a breastfeeding counselor and doula,
founded, the group with the guiding philosophy that every woman deserves to be fully informed
about their choices as birthing women, and mothers. All parts of motherhood are connected and
the day a baby is born, a mother is born as well. When a woman is empowered during her birth
to make the right choices for her, she goes on to be empowered and confident as a mother.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
If you are a professional looking to share information with our group
at one of our monthly meetings contacts us, we plan the year in November.
